We've seen that you canaccept gift cards on your booking engine, i.e. on the Internet. In this article, we'll look at how to accept these same gift cards when you complete a booking over the telephone.
Remember that the customer has received a gift card (voucher and email) which is identified by a single-use code (see this step in our knowledge base):
When a customer calls you directly, you can finalise a booking with them over the phone
Once the basket is complete, enter the gift card code given to you by the customer
Verification is instantaneous and - depending on the status of the gift card (valid, expired, unknown, already used) - a confirmation message is displayed to the customer:
Depending on the total in their basket, the amount of the total to be paid (or of the "Remainder to pay") will be updated in their basket:
Note: What happens in the following cases?
1) The amount of the gift voucher is equal to the total to be paid: the total is therefore 0€. In this case, the customer has no bank card to enter as the basket is paid for in full by the gift card
2) The amount of the gift voucher is less than the total to be paid. In this case, the customer will have to complete the payment by entering their bank card and will be debited or not depending on whether your account is set up as postpaid or prepaid,
3) The amount of the gift voucher is greater than the total to be paid. In this case, the customer does not have to add a bank card, but will lose the equivalent of the amount not used... Important: be sure to specify in your general terms and conditions of sale whether you offer your customers similar or different conditions for "overpayment".
