Selling gift cards is great because it generates extra income potential! For the experience to be positive from all points of view, these cards also need to be easy to use for their 'recipients'.
In other words, I've been given a gift card from your establishment: can I use it easily? Either directly on your website? Or by calling you directly?
Well, that's exactly what our feature allows you to do!
Remember that the customer has received a gift card (voucher and email) which is identified by a single-use code (see this step in our knowledge base):
The customer goes to your site with their card (don't forget that it tells them when the card is valid and for which offers):
They choose the offer(s) they are interested in, whether or not they are eligible for the gift card (which may enable you to make "additional" sales).
Finally, once on the payment page, customers are invited to enter their gift card code and then click Apply.
Verification is instantaneous and - depending on the status of the gift card (valid, expired, unknown, already used) - a confirmation message is displayed to the customer:
Depending on the total in their basket, the amount of the total to be paid (or the "Remainder to pay") will be updated in their basket:
Note: What happens in the following cases?
1) The amount of the gift card is equal to the total to be paid: the total is therefore €0. In this case, the customer does not need to enter a bank card as the basket is paid for in full by the gift card.
2) The amount of the gift card is less than the total to be paid. In this case, the customer will have to complete the payment by entering their bank card. Then, depending on your account settings (postpaid or prepaid), it will be debited or not.
3) The amount of the gift card is greater than the total to be paid. In this case, the customer does not have to add a bank card but will lose the equivalent of the amount not used... Important: be sure to specify in your general terms and conditions of sale whether you offer your customers similar or different conditions for "overpayment".
