Define commercial restrictions

Updated over 3 months ago

As in the hotel business, booking activities is often subject to restrictions: age of participants, stock available, weather conditions, minimum bookings, etc...

elloha enables you to manage as many of these restrictions as possible and to communicate them easily to your customers, as well as helping you to take them into account more effectively in your day-to-day business.

1. Reservation limits

Offering tickets for shows, guided tour sessions or entry to an amusement park or museum is not complicated, but it is better for these tickets to be really free to avoid any disappointment for your customers. That's why you can set a reservation limit:

  • either, according to availability (of your resources): in fact, elloha meticulously manages the schedule for using your resources. This means that if one of the resources associated with the package is not available, the customer will not be able to book it.

  • or, for a maximum number of participants: this may be necessary in the case of a guided tour limited to 15 places. Your bookings will then stop (for a given time slot if you have defined them) once this limit has been reached.

2. Minimum age

This information is important because it will appear on your booking engine (for the given package) and on the confirmation documents (voucher) sent by email to your customer. It is therefore important to specify it if this is the case for your package.

3. Presence of an adult

This section concerns the requirement to accept a child's booking if at least one adult is accompanying them and is also booking on their own behalf. This does not apply to the accompanying adult, who is exempt from booking anything.

4. Immediate or delayed confirmation

You may be subject to special conditions such as weather conditions or a minimum number of participants to confirm your package to your customer. With elloha, you can offer the package with this information. It will appear in your booking engine (which will correctly inform your customer) and will be displayed as a reminder in your elloha dashboard (see how to deal with deferred confirmations).

What you enter when you create the package :

What your customer sees on the booking engine:

5. Cancellation policy

Finally, it is important to tell your customer under what conditions they will be able to cancel their booking, if necessary:

  • firstly, whether or not the booking can be cancelled,

  • if it is, will the cancellation be free of charge?

  • if not, how much it would cost to cancel

As you can see, you can go very far with elloha and define different pricing policies from one package to another and from one promotion to another. Thanks to this diversity that you are going to offer, your customer and your company will be winners.
