elloha allows you to add service charges to be paid by the end customer. These charges are fixed and you can define different price bands to apply a different amount or rate depending on the customer's basket total.
IMPORTANT: service charges do not apply to bookings made via OTAs such as Booking, Expedia, Airbnb or Google; nor via the distribution channels that you have activated on the sales channels page.
In other words, your Service Fee only applies to direct sales from your elloha account: sales from your booking engines and internal sales. Not the booking engines of other distributors.
How does it work?
1. You must have an elloha account with at least the Connect subscription (Note: this function is not available with the Startup subscription),
2. You then need to set up your service charges in the Account menu, at the top right of your screen, then by selecting the Service charges submenu; this will take you to the relevant tab,
3. You can set service charges according to the thresholds reached in the basket (e.g. 6% for a basket of less than €100 and 4% above €100, or "free service charges" above €300, for example). You can also set fees either in absolute value (€) or in relative value (%),
4. Service charges are calculated for the entire basket and displayed (as an example) in real time,
5. Service charges are "deducted at source" (like tax) and are credited to your bank account only if you use the PayBox, Payzen or Stripe option. Without this option activated, service charges are not operational.
Please note
It is not possible to refund service charges via Stripe or PayBox or any other function present in elloha. This type of operation can only be carried out manually.
