Defining the sales rules for your incentive sales

Updated over 3 months ago

Once the upsell functionality has been activated, you need to set the rules for the upsell engine. To do this, simply go to the Sales Rules tab.

On this page you will see the list of the main offers for your elloha account (excluding options, Boutique products and gift vouchers/cards).

IMPORTANT: if the elloha account has less than 2 main offers, a warning message will be displayed, making it impossible to set up upsells.

The Create a new offer button is displayed in this screen and redirects directly to the Offers menu in your elloha account.

mceclip1.png

By default, each offer is set to Do not offer. You must select the offer from which the upsell will be triggered when Internet users book online and activate the Upsell by clicking on the dedicated button.

mceclip9.png

The activation or deactivation of the Upsell will be registered automatically (no registration button).

Once you have made your choice, you must click on the Define rules button located in the block of the main offer selected.

mceclip3.png

You will be redirected to a screen for setting the Upsell rules for this main offer.

mceclip23.png

At the top of this page is a drop-down list enabling you to select the offer to be proposed as a Upsell when the service that is to trigger the Upsell is put in the basket in the booking engine.

mceclip6.png

Once the offer has been selected, a preview simulating the display of the Upsell in the booking engine appears.

mceclip17.png

The next field allows you to enter a text to be displayed to motivate your customers to book this offer. The text can be translated into the language of your choice from the 7 languages available (English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Russian).

mceclip16.png

You are invited to define the discount granted in the offer. You must enter positive numerical values.

This discount can be applied in euros or as a percentage, as you wish, via a drop-down list.

mceclip15.png

Several fields, in the form of switches, can be used to define the time and conditions during which the service will be offered as an incentive.

mceclip14.png

Several choices can be activated, but make sure that the proposals are consistent:

  • The first switch, deactivated by default, is used to indicate whether the up-sell is offered at the time of booking, i.e. in the web booking engine.

  • A second switch, deactivated by default, indicates whether the up-sell is offered via an Upsell e-mail.

  • A third switch, also deactivated by default, is used to indicate whether the up-sell is offered when the customer arrives, i.e. in the internal booking engine of your elloha account, from your customer's file.

Lastly, date setting fields are displayed to determine whether the up-sell will appear for the edited service:

  • 2 fields enabling you to define the start and end dates for the publication of the incentive sale (which will be compared with the current date when the booking is made).

  • 2 fields allowing you to define the start and end dates for the validity of the incentive sale (which will be compared with the start date of the booking).

mceclip19.png

It is not possible to enter a date earlier than the current date.

An indication in red shows the number of days before the rule expires, based on the publication end date and compared with today's date. This indication is updated dynamically, each time the publication end date is modified.

At the bottom of the page, you can make a second setting for a new offer to be proposed if the first is no longer available.

A NO/YES switch allows you to activate or deactivate this option. By default, this switch is set to NO.

mceclip21.png

Clicking on the second service settings switch displays or hides the second service settings block, depending on the choice made.

If you select YES, the new block that appears is identical to the one initially set up for the first offer, with the same fields.

It allows you to add a second offer which will be proposed if the first offer defined as part of the up-sell is unavailable.

mceclip22.png

If you don't want to add another offer, don't forget to save your settings using the Save button at the top right of the screen.

mceclip24.png

The right-hand side of the screen shows a preview simulating the display of the up-sell in the booking engine.

None of the elements in this preview can be clicked on. It is updated dynamically, depending on the service selected and the incentive text entered in the first parameter block.
